Abstract:

This office was responsible for a wide range of functions related to the administration of academic affairs at the University of Maryland at College Park from 1970 to 1988. Among its many duties, the Vice Chancellor's office performed searches for faculty and staff, including the Director of Minority Student Education; created and administered the university's multicultural education committee; and provided oversight for the university's affirmative action programs. The records of this office include faculty and administrators search files, correspondence, reports, and information concerning academic appointments. This record group is unprocessed, but a preliminary inventory is available. Access to this material is restricted.
