ROOM SPECS

PRIORITY ACCESS & POLICIES

This room is available for reservation and rent during normal McKeldin Library hours. Priority is given to library groups, but non-library groups may rent the room for a fee. An event liaison must be designated for the event by the visiting group.

Campus Special Services staff (part of Building and Landscape Services of Facilities Management) are available to arrange furniture, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. only. The Libraries' Facilities Office issues a work order to campus Facilities for furniture arrangement. Use of the room should be requested at least seven (7) days in advance of an event, as indicated on the Reserving and Renting Rooms Request Form. If less advance notice is given, those sponsoring the event may have to arrange the furniture themselves.

Catering food (or bringing in your own food) is allowed, but food and drinks must be consumed in the room, and should not be taken into the hallway. Group hosts are expected to remove garbage if they serve food and to put all trash in the bin at McKeldin Library's loading dock. Any food deliveries must be brought in via the loading dock and up to the 6th floor via the freight elevators. Note: Access to the McKeldin Library loading dock is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If there is a major set-up (i.e., change in furniture arrangement or catering or bringing in food) for a morning event, the host/sponsor should reserve the room for 3:00 p.m. the afternoon before, with time to clean up after the close of the event.

Note: if the room requires extra cleaning after your event, a $50.00 cleaning charge will be added to your invoice.
