I have over 30 years experience working with collections in the fields of Maryland history, rare books, and historic preservation. One of my favorite activities is introducing students to special collections, and sharing with them some of the unique insights that one can glean from using original source materials. My goal is to demystify the process of discovery and to help researchers understand the value of using sources as varied as a Shakespeare folio or a humble postcard.
