Athletic Media Guides
Since 1869, when the Maryland Agricultural College (MAC) cadets took to the baseball diamond against the Star Club of Laurel and St. John’s College, students at the MAC and the University of Maryland have competed in many different sports. Details about these teams and games have been captured in a variety of resources in the University Archives, including newspaper coverage, enormous ledger books, one-page rosters, and Athletic Department administrative files and publications. The most compact and easily accessible information about Maryland’s athletes and their accomplishments appears in the media guides for each sport. In some cases, the date span covered by these volumes is quite extensive; for other sports, only a handful of these publications exist. All extant media guides in the University Archives’ collections have been digitized and are available via the links below.
